Fern Champion
Founder & Principal Psychologist
Fern is a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years' experience supporting children, parents and families across a range of settings, including early childhood education, child protection, and school psychology. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping families build strong, connected relationships and supporting parents to navigate the joys and challenges of raising children with confidence and compassion.
Alongside her work as a psychologist, Fern is a qualified Yoga teacher for both adults and children, with more than 15 years' experience sharing practices that nurture emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, mindfulness and connection. Her approach weaves together evidence-based psychological care with the wisdom of mind-body practices, recognising that healing and wellbeing are supported through caring for the whole person.
Fern has a special interest in perinatal mental health and the profound transition into parenthood. She has completed postgraduate training in perinatal mental health through the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and is committed to supporting women and families through conception, pregnancy, birth and the first year of parenthood with warmth, curiosity and deep respect for each person's unique journey.
Fern is also a facilitator of Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.), an internationally recognised, skills-based parenting program grounded in respectful relationships, effective communication and attachment theory. She believes that when parents feel supported, empowered and connected, families are better able to thrive.
Living and working on the beautiful Worimi and Birpai Country of the Mid North Coast of New South Wales Australia, Fern draws daily inspiration from the natural world. As a partner, a mother of three, a surfer and a devoted lover of nature, she understands both personally and professionally the transformative, messy, beautiful and deeply human experience of family life. She feels privileged to walk alongside others as they navigate life's seasons with greater connection, resilience and self-compassion.
